West Kelowna Flood Projects Underway
The City of West Kelowna is well into a number of projects that will help repair damage from last year's spring flood, as well as prevent any more damage should another one happen.
$5.24 million dollars has been put into these projects, which are expected to finish up sometime this spring.
Projects currently underway include:
-Excavating material from Upper McDougall Creek
-Excavating material and re-establishing the sediment pond at the Powers Creek Intake Resevoir
-Removing sediment at Smith Creek
-Protecting the sewer line at Keefe Creek
Additionally, projects expected to begin soon include:
-Increasing conveyance in Powers Creek under the Gellatly Road Bridge
-Protecting the sewer, road, and lift station at Middle and Lower McDougall Creek
