Ride Don't Hide Campaign Kicks Off
The official launch for the 'Ride Don't Hide' event for the Canadian Mental Health Association was held on Skaha Lake Road on Tuesday morning.
The event serves as a major fundraiser for the CMHA, and rides are held across the country, including Penticton.
Mark Smed is an executive director for the South Okanagan Similakmeen branch of the CHMHA. He says the event will be held on June 25th, starting at the KVR field.
"Basically riders get a sponsorship, and they're sponsored to ride 12, 24 or 36 km's down the KVR Trail," says Smed. "Afterwards, we have a barbecue."
He says last year, they had 150 riders involved, and twenty thousand dollars was raised. He's hoping to at least match that total this year.
