  • Toronto starts Estrada, going for sweep of O's

Right-hander Marco Estrada will take the mound when the Blue Jays close out their three-game series against the Orioles at Camden Yards tonight with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET. Estrada was originally scheduled to start Thursday, but his outing was moved up a day since he was limited to 55 pitches in his last start vs. the Yankees. He allowed eight runs in 2 2/3 innings in New York. Baltimore will send Jimmy Yacabonis to the hill.
  • Gurriel caps rally in 7th to take series vs. O's

The Blue Jays rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to earn a series win on the road. A throwing error by Steve Wilkerson allowed the tying runs to score, then Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a two-run single as part of a 2-for-3 night to put Toronto ahead. Dylan Bundy allowed only two earned runs in his 6 2/3 innings of starting work -- his longest outing since July -- but was charged with five total runs. Cedric Mullins hit a leadoff home run for the O's.
  • Stroman (blister) unlikely to return this season

With only 18 games remaining, it is looking more like Marcus Stroman may have thrown his final pitch for the Blue Jays this season.

  • Blue Jays' bats back solid outing by Pannone

Thomas Pannone tossed 6 1/3 strong innings in a victory over Cleveland on Sunday afternoon at Rogers Centre. The rookie left-hander scattered four hits and three walks while striking out two to put up his second quality start in three outings. Justin Smoak went 2-for-4 with a home run, and Teoscar Hernandez added a three-run shot in the eighth. Jose Ramirez joined the 30-30 club with a steal in the first inning, becoming the third Indians player to reach the milestone.

  • Game Preview | Lions vs. Tiger-Cats

They have shown all the signs of being the championship defence a some had envisioned back in training camp. Over the last two games, the numbers would make any opponent cringe: 13 sacks, seven interceptions and only one touchdown given up. And as they get set to face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the first of […]
  • Pride Of Haiti Making Strides On Defensive Line

You’d never know he was once a budding soccer star in his native Haiti. That’s because Claudell Louis looks every bit like the ferocious run stopper he has been through his first four games in Lions orange: 6-foot-5, 302 pounds with all the athleticism you want in a defensive tackle. Yet, the story of how he would […]
  • Patient Jennings Once Again Holds The Keys

The good news is, he’s loose, relaxed and clearly not feeling any extra pressure after re-inheriting his old starting job. Well, maybe a bit rusty. Upon meeting the horde of reporters for what used to be a daily routine, post-practice interviews, Jonathon Jennings realized he had to fetch a cap from Travis Lulay. Can’t have […]
  • Orange Picks Off Performer Of The Week Honour

Following a dominant defensive performance in the club’s 32-14 win over the Montreal Alouettes on Friday which included four interceptions and seven sacks, BC Lions defensive back Anthony Orange has earned CFL Performer of the Week kudos. Orange’s efforts included a pair of interceptions highlighted by a game-clinching 54-yard pick-six late in the fourth quarter. […]
  • Breaking Down The Wild West Race

Every year, in some shape or form, we’re reminded that in the Canadian Football league, your playoff outlook can change drastically over the course of a couple of weeks. That’s what’s going through the minds of the BC Lions and their fans ahead of a week 15 home tilt with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Leos’ […]
  • Roar Report: Suffocating Defence Paves Way For Win In Montreal

They smelled blood in the water early and finished with a pair of knockout punches that, perhaps, put the rest of the league on notice. Bo Lokombo‘s first quarter interception led to their only major of the night while TJ Lee and Anthony Orange each returned interceptions to the house in the late stages as […]
