Coyotes gun for baseball title

The Canadian College Baseball Conference championship begins Thursday in Kamloops.

The Okanagan College Coyotes open the tournament against the University of Fraser Valley.

Head Coach Geoff White is confidence his team can win the title.

"We can hit. We can defend. We can pitch. We have had a couple of games this year when we have put all three things together and we have been able to win in multiple different ways this year".

The Coyotes are the second seed heading into the tournament after winning 20 of 28 games during the regular season.

"With the group we have this year, if we continue to play the way we have been playing, I think we have a really good shot.  Anytime you get into the playoffs, it is just a matter of execution", White added.

The five other teams in the championship tournament are the University of Calgary, Vancouver Island University, Thompson Rivers University (Kamloops), Prairie Baseball Academy from Lethbridge and the University of Fraser Valley.
