Falcons clinch playoff spot

The Kelowna Falcons are headed to the playoffs.

Kelowna clinched because of Portland's 10-3 win over the Victoria HarbourCats, which sent the Falcons to the postseason for the third time in its last four seasons.

Kelowna also ended its regular season on a high note, beating the Wenatchee AppleSox 11-3.

The Falcons actually trailed 2-1, before sending 13 men to the plate and scoring eight times in the home half of the third inning, which featured Dan Pruitt's third home run in two nights.

Kelowna's offence is red hot, having outscored Wenatchee 26-4 over the last couple nights.

The Falcons postseason schedule starts on Friday night, as the team hosts a best of three series against the Bellingham Bells.

First pitch at Elks Stadium goes at 6:35.
