Heat men's basketball coach cautiously optimistic
The UBC Okanagan Heat Men's basketball team open the home portion of their schedule this weekend against the visiting Brandon Bobcats.
Head Coach Ken Olynyk says his team is feeling confident after back-to-back wins last weekend over Trinity Western.
"The first two games people didn't take us very serious. Of course they are going to take us more serious now that we have won two, so it only gets tougher going forward. We are also growing and getting better all the time. Hopefully we can have more success going forward."
Olynyk is the Heat's interm head coach after spending several years as the athletic director at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.
He wants to retire at the end of this season so he can watch his son Kelly Olynyk play for the NBA's Miami Heat.
