Huska headed to NHL

After four seasons in the American Hockey League, Ryan Huska has made the NHL as an assistant coach.

The 42 year-old Huska has joined the coaching staff of the Calgary Flames.

Huska spent 7 seasons as a head coach with the Kelowna Rockets before leaving the team at the end of 2014 season to become the head coach of the Flames A-H-L team.

Huska's pro coaching career started when the Flames AHL affiliate was based in Adirondack, New York before moving to Stockton California, where the team currently resides. 

Born in Cranbrook, BC but attending elementary and middle school in Trail, Huska is the Rockets all-time leader in coaching victories and helped the team win a WHL championship in 2009.   

Huska played one game in the NHL as a player, with the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1997-98 season.
