Injury forces Rockets' prospect out RBC Cup
The RBC Cup is underway this week in Chililwack, but a Kelowna Rockets prospect isn't playing.
Sixteen year-old Ethan Bowen, who joined the Chilliwack Chiefs for their playoff run, is unable to dress for the host team after suffering an MCL sprain to his knee.
Bowen was the Rockets first selection in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft and hasn't committed to playing in Kelowna or with the Chiefs 'full time' next season.
Many WHL scouts stayed away from Bowen at the draft, believing he was fully committed to playing in the NCAA over major junior hockey.
The Rockets would like to have both Ethan and his older brother Ryan in the line-up as early as next season.
Ryan Bowen's playing rights were obtained from the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the trade deadline in January, but he chose to play with the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL.
