Kelowna's Rick Sawatsky in his 7th Brier

Kelowna curler Rick Sawatsky is very familiar with the Canadian Men's Curling Championship - and beginning this Saturday, March 4th in St. John's, he's playing in his 7th Brier.

So how does Sawatsky manage to keep appearing in Brier's year after year? He answered laughing "I just do my job and I do it well, I guess."

He's might have been kidding around, but not really - the 41-year-old has curled with some of the best like Pat Ryan, Bob Ursel and Kevin Folk and said the current squad skipped by John Morris is another one with the 'right stuff'.

"Our team dynamic is very good. We're a real tight group of guys and sort of have the same mindset on and off the ice - it's just an easy fit."

Sawatsky said this current BC rink has seen every rink they'll face in this year's Champsionship, and there's nothing that'll really surprise them.

"There isn't a team here that we haven't played, and haven't beaten, so it's just a matter of us going out and executing and playing the way we can."

Sawatsky and BC take on reigning Olympic gold-medallist Brad Jacobs of Northern Ontario in their first match of the round robin.
