Rockets are NOT for sale

The Kelowna Rockets are not for sale.

Majority owner Bruce Hamilton made that perfectly clear about rumours that have been circulating for months that the franchise will be sold.

"To purchase this thing (franchise) won't be a small operation, put it that way. It will have to be something big. Someday it will happen, but I have no plans right now to do that. I am enjoying what I am doing".

The Rockets are one of the most valued franchises in the entire Canadian Hockey League along with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Quebec Remparts.

"It would be news to me if it was sold. I have the most shares, so I don't think it is going to be sold under my watch right now anyway's.  I think it is too bad that there is a group of people, I will call 'agents', that phone around and ask questions and then spread rumours which is unfortunate."

Hamilton is too busy to even listen to offers as he builds a competitive team for the 2020 Kia Memorial Cup.

"If my passion wasn't here, we wouldn't have bid for the Memorial Cup," Hamilton added.
