Rockets coach headed to Sweden

A member of the Kelowna Rockets coaching staff is headed overseas.

Adam Brown has been named the goaltending coach for Canada at the upcoming Under 18 World Championships in Sweden.

The 27 year-old says he is familiar with many of the players after coaching at the World Under 17's last November in St. John New Brunswick.

"It is a lot of fun because the players have made that same step as well, so the talent and the understanding of the 'Canadian way' and how we are going to play and buying into those systems."

Brown's father, Newell, was the captain for Team Canada during the 1985-86 season and is now an assistant coach with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks.

The Under 18 World Championships in Sweden take place April 18th to the 28th.
