Rockets deal McGauley to Broncos

The Kelowna Rockets are freeing up some roster spots for young players this season.

That's the message from GM Bruce Hamilton, who traded 18-year-old forward Colum McGauley on Tuesday.

McGauley will head to the defending champion Swift Current Broncos, who gave the Rockets an 8th round pick in the 2021 bantam draft.

In 47 games this year, McGauley put up two goals, along with 14 penalty minutes.

He came to the Rockets in 2016, when Kelowna traded Tanner Wishnowski to Spokane.

The Chiefs drafted McGauley in the fourth round of the 2015 bantam draft.
