Rockets reduce roster
The Kelowna Rockets have reduced their roster significantly following a pair of pre-season losses on the weekend.
The team has 26 players in camp after a 6-5 shootout loss to the Victoria Royals last Friday and a 4-2 setback to the Prince George Cougars an evening later.
Third year forward Leif Mattson, who turned 19 on July 23rd, admits he feels old on team that lost several veteran players to the pro's.
"We have the guys that are able to step in and put up those numbers whether its by committee or whether its a few of us putting up big numbers. Overall, we need to play 200 foot hockey and make sure we are getting it done at both ends of the ice all season".
Mattson and the Rockets return to action this weekend with two games against Kamloops to close out the WHL pre-season.
