Rookie goalie steals game three

Keegan Kolesar's second goal of the game with 20 seconds left in regulation time, lifted the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 2-1 win Tuesday night over the Kelowna Rockets.

The victory gives the T-Birds a 2-1 series lead in the Western Conference championship series heading into game four Wednesday night at Prospera Place.

Kolesar opened the scoring with a goal midway through the second period before the Rockets tied it on a Calvin Thurkauf power play goal with close to 6 minutes left in the game.

Then with everyone believing we would be going into overtime for a second straight game, Kolesar scored the game winner.

The Rockets out-shot the T-Birds 35-14 in the game and scored once on 7 power play chances before a crowd of 5,085.
