Twarynski working for AHL title
The Kelowna Rockets season may have ended over six weeks ago, but Carsen Twarynski's rolls along.
When the Rockets season ended March 29th in a four game sweep at the hands of the Tri City Americans, the 21 year-old was quickly dispatched to the American Hockey League's LeHigh Valley Phantoms.
Twarynski and the Phantoms are now in the third round of the Calder Cup playoffs where they face the Toronto Marlies.
"They finished first in their division this year and they are a confident group. Even the guys that were called up, they have welcomed us with open arms and it feels like we have been here all year. I think the team here has a good chance of winning it all".
Game one in that series is Friday night.
Twarynski has played in two of the Phantoms 9 games in the 2018 playoffs.
"It is a different role that I am used to playing right now, but I know I have the shot and can put it in the net if I get the chance to play", Twarynski added.
