Two former Rockets honoured by University teams

Former Kelowna Rockets Jordan Cooke and Tyson Baillie are being recognized by Canada West men's hockey.

On Tuesday, Canada West announced its two all-star teams along with the all-rookie squad.

Cooke was named as a First Team All-Star, with Baillie getting recognized on the All-Rookie team.

Baillie is in his rookie season with the University of Alberta Golden Bears, where he's played 28 games, and recorded 26 points (13G, 13A) and 24 penalty minutes.

Baillie spent parts of five seasons with the Rockets, putting up 310 points (138G, 172A) in 329 games, and also served as an alternate captain for three seasons.

Cooke is in his third season with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.

This season has been a solid one, with Cooke compiling a record of 19-6-0, a save percentage of .929 and a goals against average of 1.94, in 26 games. 

He'd spent parts of four seasons with the Rockets playing in 149 games, and winning 92 of them.

Both players were among 16 former WHL-ers to be named as league all-stars.

The players were selected by the conference’s eight head coaches.
