Trial Date To Be Set

A  trial date has been set for the man who faces assaults charges in the North Okanagan.   Curtis Wayne Sagmoen's case begins December 9th in Vernon and is expected to take a week.

A man who faces a series of charges including alleged assaults of escorts in the North Okanagan has a court hearing in Vernon Monday morning to fix a trial date on a charge for assault causing bodily harm.
Curtis Wayne Sagmoen pleaded guilty last week to assault in an unrelated incident involving a sex worker in Maple Ridge in 2013 and was sentenced to time served.  Court heard last week that in 2013 Sagmoen had a dispute over money with the woman, who suffered an injury to the back of her head and ran away.
Sagmoen remains in custody on separate allegations and his court appearances have attracted protesters who denounce violence against women.
