$20,000 Up For Grabs During Saints Gaming Live

Over 500 people are expected for the second annual 'Saints Gaming Live.

The video gaming and Esports festival at St.Clair College is focused on the growing video game community.

It will feature 300 PC stations, 60 console stations and two large-scale streaming stations with tournaments for games such as Fortnite and Super Smash Bros.

Over $20,000 will also be awarded throughout the weekend.

"This is a really good opportunity to show off for the coaching staff that will be running the tournaments," says Shaun Byrne, Esports Director at St.Clair College.

He says that seven students were signed to scholarships of up to $1,500 per semester after performing well last year at the event.

"For those high school students looking to go to college in the fall, we will be scouting for our varsity teams as well."

The event takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 10pm and will also serve as a tryout for students looking to earn a spot on one of the varsity Esports teams, with $50,000 in scholarships available.
