A Set Back For The Ambassador Bridge
A Wayne County judge has ruled an agreement between the State of Michigan and Canada to build another international bridge is valid.
The deal was made between Governor Rick Snyder and the Canadian government in 2012 to build the Gordie Howe International Bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor.
Detroit International Bridge Company owner Matty Maroun has been fighting the plan which will offer competition to his Ambassador Bridge.
The DIBC says the state legislature should have approved the construction, but Judge Robert Colombo Jr. disagreed.
The decision will likely be appealed to a higher court.
