Accused in New Year's Eve Assault in Leamington Identified

The OPP have identified the accused in a New Year's Eve assault in Leamington.

Police say 21-year-old Robert Low of Windsor has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

The OPP say a woman was driving on Whitwam St. in Leamington around 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve when she was flagged down by a pedestrian who claimed he was stabbed. 

Police say the woman transported the 24-year-old Leamington man to a hospital suffering from potentially life altering injuries. 

Officers later went to an apartment complex on Lutsch Ave. and arrested the Windsor man.

Police say the victim remains in hospital and the accused, Low has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Windsor courtroom.
