Amherstburg Signs on for MADD Campaign

Amherstburg is getting on board with a Mothers Against Drunk Driving sign campaign. Council has agreed to have ten signs posted around the town in high traffic areas.

As heard on AM800 News on Monday, MADD is looking to expand the campaign which already has roughly 45 signs in the City of Windsor. The signs remind drivers to pullover and call 9-11 if they suspect someone is driving impaired.

MADD Community Leader Chaouki Hamka says stats show the signs are having an impact in many communities with as much as an 80% increase in impaired driving charges due to public calls.

Caesars Windsor Cares is covering the entire cost of the signage campaign.
