Art In The Park Attendance Down Slightly

The rain Sunday morning may have kept some people away from this year's Art in the Park.

According to event chair Randy Winters, a total of 22,400 people attended the two-day festival at Willistead Manor this past weekend, which is down about 10% from last year.

There were two perfect weather days for the festival in 2017 whereas, there was a bit of rain Sunday morning which Winters believes prevented some people from attending.

There were 270 artists and artisans this year which included 40 new exhibitors.

Winters says it means a lot to organizers that the community continues to support the festival.

"This event is for the people and the monies that we raise from it, go back into the community into community programs," he says.

He notes some people drop $1,000 at the festival because the items are unique and hand-crafted.

Proceeds from the event are shared by the Willistead Restoration Fund and charities supported by the Windsor Rotary Club.
