ATV's Return To Some Lakeshore Roads On Friday

There will be more vehicles on some Lakeshore roads.

Starting on Friday the town will allow off road vehicles to use some municipality roadways.

The roads are mainly in the Stoney Point and Lighthouse Cove areas north of the CN/VIA tracks.

Mayor Tom Bain says a pilot project was held last January.

"Council has decided after completing their pilot project that the ATV's would continue to be able to use some of the roads especially those that lead out to the fishing areas out to Lake St. Clair," says Bain.

He adds there were no complaints during last year's pilot project.

"Really what we've had is positive feedback and that this allows the local snowmobile groups, the four wheeling groups all to stay in the area here and to help the economy here," says Bain.

The ATV's will be allowed on the roadways from 7am until 10pm until April 30.
