Blue Jays Stop the Red-Hot Yankees
Teoscar Hernandez hit two home runs and Sean Reid-Foley was solid through five innings as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the New York Yankees 8-2 on Friday.
Randal Grichuk and Danny Jansen also hit home runs for the Blue Jays, who evened the four-game series at 1-1.
Reid-Foley collected the win after allowing just one run on five hits while striking out five batters.
The win ends the Yankees season-high winning streak of nine games.
Former Blue Jay J.A. Happ struggled with his control on the mound for the Yankees. He gave up six runs on four hits, walked three batters and allowed three home runs.
Grichuk opened the scoring in the first inning when he sent a 1-1 fastball from Happ over the left-field wall for a two-run homer, giving the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead.
