Boston Blows Out Tigers 7-1

The Tigers dropped their second straight game in Boston with a 7-1 loss to the Red Sox last night.

Blaine Hardy was charged with the loss after he was tagged for five runs on eight hits while striking out two in six innings.

JaCoby Jones was two-for-three at the plate and scored Detroit's only run on a Jose Iglesias single in the second.

Andrew Benintendi and Christian Vazquez homered to help power the Red Sox while Xander Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with two RBI.  

Eduardo Rodriguez ran his record to 7-and-1 with five-and-two-thirds innings of five-hit, one-run ball.

In tonight's series finale, Matthew Boyd gets the start for the Tigers, while Jalen Beeks makes his Major League debut for the Red Sox.
