Bridge Toll Reduction on the Way
Communters who pre-pay their tolls at the Ambassador Bridge will soon see a major reduction.
As of February 18, tolls will go from $4.00USD ($4.60CDN) to $2.60USD everyday, anytime in either direction.
"The commuters have endured the closing of the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, the closing of I-75, shortage of both CBP and CBSA staff and lane closures on the bridge itself for too long without any real or even perceived relief," says bridge President Dan Stamper.
The reduction is also part of the rollout of the new Premier Commuter Program — card holders of the current green card program will automatically be enrolled inthe new program and anybody who wishes to sign up can do so in the Duty Free store on the U.S. side.
In addition to the toll reduction, Stamper also says the bridge will open a third lane for commuters from Canada to the US every weekday morning from 6:30 am to 8:30 am and a third lane for commuters US to Canada every weekday afternoon from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
