Canada Wins World Cup Opener

Canada has opened the Women's World Cup in France with a 1-0 win over Cameroon.

Centre back Kadeisha Buchanan scored the lone goal of the match just before halftime.

Canada is ranked fifth, while Cameroon is 46th in the world.

For Buchanan, it was her fourth goal in 89 career matches.

Canada is back in action on Saturday against New Zealand.
