Canadiens Win Chippy Contest In Dresden

The Lakeshore Canadiens exploded in the second period to power their way to a 5-4 win over the Kings in Dresden.

Matt Smith scored a pair while Hunter Bailey, Connor Rosaasen and Matt Teno also grabbed goals.

The first and second periods were spirited with 56 of 58 penalty minutes being dished out in the opening two frames. Nolan VandenBoorn for the Kings was given a game misconduct in the second period for checking from behind while Lakeshore's Colton Coates earned a game misconduct for tripping.

Mitch Topliffe faced just 13 shots and made 9 saves to take the win.

The Canadiens are next in action in a big tilt on Friday when the West Stobbs Division leading Essex 73's visit the Atlas Tube Centre. Lakeshore trails the 73's by just a point with both teams even on games played.
