Charges Laid After High Speed Vehicle Rolls on the 401
A 28-year-old Toronto man faces charges after a vehicle on the 401 was clocked at nearly twice the speed limit.
Early Thursday morning, the OPP was notified of an eastbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
Officers set up for observation at the border of Essex and Chatham Kent and got a radar reading of 195 km/h.
They continued to monitor and try to identify the vehicle.
Just east of the Thamesville exit, the vehicle lost control rolling into the ditch.
The driver was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
He was later arrested and charged with stunt driving and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
