Cheers To Windsor's First WhiskyTown Festival

Whisky lovers listen up!

WindsorEats has organized the first 'WhiskyTown Festival' which will feature 30 whiskies from Canada and around the world.

It's set for Saturday, August 4 from 6pm to 9:30pm at St. Mary's Church in Olde Walkerville.

Festival Director Adriano Ciotoli says it builds on Windsor's reputation with Hiram Walker.

"We want to further that kind of messaging and you can't really call yourself the home of Canadian whiskey or whiskey town Canada without having a festival dedicated to it."

He says it won't just be about hometown flavours.

"That's not just Canadian whiskeys, it is Irish, Scotch, Bourbon will be available for people to sample."

Ciotoli says everything will centre around whisky.

"We are going to be showcasing a beer that is not even released yet from Walkerville brewery, that is actually aged in whiskey barrel. So it is taking all those components of whiskey and showcasing it all in one festival."

Ciotoli says the festival is taking place at St. Mary's Church because it was built by Hiram Walker's son.

Tickets are $30 in advance and include five tokens for sampling.
