City Approves New Concessions Operator For Adventure Bay

The downtown Windsor aquatics centre is getting a new concessions operator.

On Monday, Windsor city council awarded the RFP to CGC Concessions Group Canada Inc.

Mayor Drew Dilkens says the sale of alcohol is not in the contract.

"The recommendation from administration was not to proceed with the sale of alcohol at Adventure Bay for a number of operational reasons it didn't make sense," says Dilkens.

Dilkens says the operator will have different food options.

"They're required to have a healthy option as part of their menu so I would imagine there's still going to be things that kids enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza and those kids of things but there will be a healthy option as well for people who choose to eat healthier," he says.

CGC's contract with the city is for three years. The city will receive just over $139,300 from the new operator. The contract does not include the sale of alcohol at the centre.
