City Preparing to Hand Out More Sandbags
The City of Windsor is making more sandbags available to residents who live along the shoreline.
In a release, the city says officials continue to monitor water levels along Lake St. Clair, the Detroit River and Little River and while there is no imminent threat at this time, more rain and high winds are in the forecast.
Those who qualify for sandbags live along the north side of Riverside Drive from Goose Bay Park, east to the border with Tecumseh.
Residents from those addresses will be able to pick up their sandbags and sand beginning Wednesday morning and will have to provide proof of address to receive the materials.
Details on pickup location and times are being finalized and will be announced Tuesday.
As heard on AM800 News last week, the city purchased a sandbag making machine and already has 50,000 bags ready to hand out.
