CK Police Persistence Pays Off

A 48-year-old Chatham man has learned how persistent Chatham-Kent police are.

Back in July, an officer stopped a car in Chatham, but the driver hopped out of the car, bolted away and was not located.

The officer was able to confirm the suspect's identity because he had left his wallet behind in the vehicle. The investigation led the officer to determine the man was violating a number of Highway Traffic Act laws.

Last night officers acted on the outstanding warrant and arrested the man.

He's charged with driving a vehicle without a license, driving while under suspension, using a plate not authorized for the vehicle and driving without insurance.

The man was held overnight for a bail hearing today.
