Clean-up Continues Following Fierce Storm in Windsor-LaSalle

The City of Windsor is still assessing the damage following Monday night's fierce storm that ripped through the city.

Several trees were knocked down, some hitting houses, cars and knocking out power.

Corporate Leader for Parks, Recreation, Culture and Facilities Jan Wilson says the hardest hit area appears to be east Windsor.

"Mostly I think residential neighbourhoods," says Wilson.  "Obviously those with the larger trees and most treed areas are going to be affected the most."

She says the Windsor police non-emergency line received 84 calls last night and calls are coming into 3-11 this morning.

Crews are focusing on residential neighbourhoods and all roads are clear of debris.

"We actually haven't gotten into our parks too much yet because we have been focusing on ensuring our roads are safe," she says.  "We will definitely get through all those areas but it is going to take a little bit of time."
