Detroit Grand Prix Will Remain On Belle Isle
A new three-year agreement to keep the Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle has been reached.
On Friday, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced the race will be on the island for the next three years with an option for two additional years.
The new plan calls for Grand Prix officials to be on Belle Isle a total of 60 days for set-up, the race itself and clean-up — down from 84 days previously.
The annual fee paid by race officials will also increase to $325,000 which will help with park improvement projects.
