Disheartening Loss To Sarnia Leads Spitfires GM To Call Meeting

Spitfires GM Warren Rychel is not pleased with the team's performance in a 4-2 loss to Sarnia yesterday.

Rychel is sitting the players down for a serious attitude adjustment talk this afternoon.

He says the team is not playing up to the level of talent in the room and he wants to see changes.

Rychel says he is going it alone in this session, the coaches have done a great job and it's time for him to talk it out with the players.

He fully supports Head Coach Rocky Thompson's handling of Mikhail Sergachev after he took a costly penalty:  "I think he did the right thing and we know it was a mistake, he was selfish he put himself before the team it's totally unacceptable.  I don't care if it cost us a game, I probably would have done worse.  The player's got to grow up along with a couple of other guys in there"

Rychel says this will be a no-holds barred type of conversation.

Thompson benched Sergachev for the 3rd period following the penalty.

Rychel says there isn't a lot of time left in the regular season, pointing out this Thursday they'll face the Soo Greyhounds.
