Dixon Wins Second Duel in Detroit

Scott Dixon won the Detroit Grand Prix Sunday afternoon on Belle Isle giving the five-time champion his first win this year and the 45th of his career.

Dixon was also a winner last year in the Motor City, and despite starting 6th, wound up leading 44 of the 70 laps.

The Chip Ganassi Racing driver finished nearly 2 seconds in front of rookie Marcus Ericsson, Will Power, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Alexander Rossi.

Indianapolis 500 champion Simon Pagenaud ended up 17th after colliding with Patricio O'Ward and Tony Kanaan on the opening lap.

Canadian, James Hinchcliffe started 5th but finished 18th, and Saturday's winner, Josef Newgarden was 19th.

The Indy Car Series heads to Texas this coming weekend.
