Downtown Farmers Market Reporting Good Mid-Season Numbers
The Downtown Windsor Farmers Market is officially half way through its season.
Market Director Steve Green says crowds have been bigger than anticipated and the vendors couldn't be happier.
"We're having some sell out days," says Green. "The vendors are really looking forward to the crowds that we have down here."
Green says the second half of the season should be just as good — if not better.
"We're looking forward to the harvest produce to start coming in," says Green. "Really, we're heading into the sweet spot for the farmers market. This is where everything becomes available for about three or four months. So we're really, really looking forward to that. All the good stuff is coming in out of the county and is available here in downtown Windsor."
Green adds the market usually draws 40 to 50 vendors every Saturday.
It's the fourth year the farmers market is taking place on Pelissier St. and Maiden Lane.
The market is open from 8am to 1pm each Saturday until October 26.
