Downtown Hotel Reborn As Marriott TownPlace Suites
A downtown hotel has been rebranded and renovated
Marriott International TownPlace Suites is now housed in the former Quality Suites location on the corner of Dougal Ave. and University St. W.
Sunray Group Executive Director of Operations Christine Melnyk says the 128 suite hotel is a first for the ownership group and the city.
"This renovation has been underway over the past year or so, and we're excited to launch the first Marriott hotel," she says. "First for our ownership company, the Sunray Group, as well as the first for Windsor."
She says the layout of the hotel was ideal, the fully renovated suites with full kitchens will have all the comforts of home for weary travellers.
"It was an all suites hotel, so we do have a fairly large footprint in all the rooms, all the suites are about 450 sq. ft.," says Melnyk. "So it was the perfect model for Marriott's TownPlace Suites, which is an extended-stay style hotel."
Rates will be competitive, she added.
Melnyk says the hotel will also offer meeting rooms that can be booked by anyone looking for event space.
Sunray Group is based out of Toronto.
