Drug Charges Laid After 401 Crash In Chatham-Kent

The OPP have laid drug charges against two people following a crash on the 401 in Chatham-kent.

Police were called around 10:15pm on January 3rd to the 401 near Charing Cross Rd. for a vehicle in the centre median.

Officers found footprints leading away from the scene.

While speaking to the driver, the officer smelled fresh marijuana.

As a result, the driver, a 29-year-old Toronto man has been charged with possession of marijuana under 30 grams, obstructing a police officer, careless driving and failing to comply with recognizance,

The passenger, a 23-year-old Barrie woman has been charged the possession of marijuana, under 30 grams.
