Elliott Wins at Watkins Glen
It was deja vu for Chase Elliott and Martin Truex Jr. at Watkins Glen.
Elliott earned his second straight victory at the course, once again holding off Truex to become the first repeat winner at The Glen since Marcos Ambrose in 2011-12.
It was a two-car race for more than half the 220.5-mile distance and the entire final 40 laps. Elliott started from the pole and led 80 of 90 laps in snapping a long slump.
Denny Hamlin was third, followed by Erik Jones and Ryan Blaney.
In other Motor Sports news, Lewis Hamilton overtook Max Verstappen near the end of the Hungarian Grand Prix to earn his 81st Formula One race victory and extend his championship lead.
The Mercedes driver is now only 10 wins behind seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher's record of 91.
