Essex County Dental Society Wants Fluoride Back In Windsor Water

The Essex County Dental Society is calling on Windsor to put fluoride back into the local drinking water.

It points out a report by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit that children with tooth decay or in need of urgent care is up by 51% in the past five years.

Five years ago, Windsor City Council voted to remove fluoride from the drinking water which also affected water in Tecumseh and LaSalle.

Vice President of the Essex County Dental Society Dr. Mark Parete believes there is an undeniable connection between soaring cavity rates and de-fluoridation.

The issues is scheduled to go before Windsor City Council Monday, May 7 as the local health unit presents its 2018 Oral Health Report.
