Essex Neighbourhood Wants To Know Where Runoff Comes From

Essex residents are concerned over water runoff pooling in their yards.

Homeowners from Viscount Estates arrived at council to ask where the water is coming from. Representatives from ERCA were also in attendance to try and get to the bottom of the issue.

Councillor Randy Voakes says standing water this time of year means more mosquitoes, which increase risk the risk of catching insect born disease.

"Viscount Estates in Essex is subject to water retention on residents properties — specifically that of after storms," says Voakes. "Water retention on residents property, specifically that of after storm, and the belief is the water could be coming from ERCA land."

Both ERCA and council agreed to visit the site in the coming weeks to figure out where the water's coming from and what would need to be done to fix the issue.
