Fan Zones And Alumni Game Part Of Memorial Cup Celebrations

It's less than a month to go for the festivities to begin for the 99th Memorial Cup in Windsor.

Today, the host organizing committee announced fan zones will be set up in the community rinks at the WFCU Centre.

There will be a number of military-themed displays, the Hockey Hall of Fame will have a miniature museum  and there will be the Molson Hockey House in the AM800 Community Rink which will feature food and drink, giant screens and live entertainment.

The exhibits take place May 19th to May 28th.

"We are hoping to see the entire community engaged in this," says Chair of the Host Organizing Committee John Savage."Whether you are coming out to watch the hockey game in the bowl or in the fan zones, there will be activities for old people and young people and the young at heart."

Mayor Drew Dilkens says 5,000 tickets are already sold for each game so if people want tickets, they need to get them sooner rather than later.

The CHL Alumni Game is set for May 27th at 2pm that will include Adam Henrique, Josh Baily, Kris Draper, Aaron Ekblad, Doug Gilmour, Adam Graves, Darcy Tucker and Taylor Hall.

It's a tentative list of players depending on the NHL playoffs.
