Five Year Deal Reached at Enwin


Labour peace at Enwin.

The utility and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 636, representing the hydro division, have ratified a new five-year agreement.

The 64 workers will get on average, a 2 percent wage increase per year in each of the five years.

Workers had been set to go on strike at 12:01am on Tuesday, June 18th, but talks continued and the strike was averted.

As part of the agreement, workers will also see minor benefit improvements and a change in job classification which will allow workers to do multiple jobs.

The deal runs from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2024.
