Monday night marks the first of four public information sessions to help local residents deal with record-high water levels.

Tonight's meeting is at the Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore from 7:15pm to 8:30pm.

The region has been under a long-term flood watch since May 30th.

General Manager of the Essex Region Conservation Authority Richard Wyma says some shoreline and low-lying areas have been largely under water for months.

The meetings are intended to help residents prepare in the case of a flooding emergency.

Further meetings are set for:

  • Tuesday, August 13 from 6:30pm to 8pm at the WFCU Centre's Collavino Hall
  •  Wednesday, August 14th from 6:30 to 8pm at the Vollmer Centre in LaSalle
  • Thursday, August 15th from 6:30 to 8pm at Lakeshore Park in Kingsville.
