Flood Watch Issued For Essex Region

A Flood Watch has been issued for the area by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.

E.R.C.A. says with up to 25 millimetres of rain predicted this afternoon and saturated, wet ground conditions there will likely be accumulations of standing water.

The watch indicates the areas most affected are low lying zones, flood plains next to waterways and shorelines.

E.R.C.A. goes on to say that an expected snowfall in the evening up to 100 millimetres will add to the concern.

With daytime temperatures remaining above freezing, melting is expected.

The watch is in effect until noon Friday.
