Flood Watch Issued For Wind And Rain

A Flood Watch has been issued by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.

Strong, gusty east to northeast wind over the weekend is predicted to cause shoreline flooding and high waves along portions of both the Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair Shorelines.

The areas most significantly impacted along the Lake Erie shoreline are the southeast shoreline of the Municipality of Leamington between Wheatley Harbour and the tip of Point Pelee and the north and east sides of Pelee Island.

The potential areas most significantly impacted along the shoreline of Lake St. Clair are the western portions of the Town of Lakeshore, the Town of Tecumseh and the eastern portions of the City of Windsor.

ERCA is warning of possible high water affecting dykes along the Little River Drain and throughout southeast Leamington.

With a significant amount of rain expected overnight Saturday into Sunday there is the potential for localized flooding in low lying areas.
