Former Windsor Fire Chief Lands Top Job In Amherstburg

Amherstburg is expected to formally approve the hiring of Bruce Montone as its new fire chief tonight.

Montone is Windsor's former fire chief and Amherstburg Mayor Aldo DiCarlo is excited about the new hire. "We have gotten two very experienced chief in a row. Chief Montone brings 40 years or more of experience with him. Years at different municipalities as deputy chief and fire chief. Getting a guy like that is like hitting the jackpot."

DeCarlo says Montone's first priority will be to establish a fire master plan for Amherstburg, something he recently complete for Windsor.

Montone would replace Al Reaume, who has notified the town of his intention to go back into retirement.
