Funeral Service Honours Late Former President George H.W Bush

Family, friends, world figures, former U.S presidents and President Donald Trump have all attended a funeral service to honour the late former U.S President George H.W. Bush.

The 41st president had been lying in state since late Monday.

He passed away last week in Houston at the age of 94.

Former President George W Bush told the crowd at the Washington National Cathedral that he told his father before he died that he was a 'wonderful dad.'

During the eulogy, Bush said his father's last words were 'I love you too.'

Former Presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter attended the funeral.

Former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney praised the former president saying he was a strong leader who oversaw the end of the Cold War and collapse of the Soviet Union.

Bush's remains will be returned to Houston to lie in repose before a burial Thursday at his family plot.
